Blending An easy and economically interesting way to increase the beer output of your brewery with a little investment is blending, the dilution of high gravity beer with deaerated water or pre- /post run beer. Through the addition of pre- and post run beer, extract and alcohol losses are reduced, which has an environmental benefit and in many cases saves your brewery paying expensive taxes for alcohol wasting. Furthermore, the installations from brew house up to filling department will run with a higher efficiency. Process description The most advanced way of blending is a ratio control water/beer with an original gravity or alcohol correction. The water quantity is volumetrically controlled by an integrating ratio controller. The original gravity or alcohol measurement is used to correct the ratio in case of any difference with the original gravity or alcohol set-point. This ensures a reliable and accurate blending. |
