The cross-flow technology of Norit Beer Membranes Filtration overcame all former barriers to succesful commercial use of membrane filtration in breweries. A new cleaning strategy and the excellent properties of the Norit membranes are what make the membrane technology feasible for beer brewing applications. Beer Membrane Filtration from Norit sets a global standard in beer filtration, taking it into a Kieselguhr-free era. Well-known beer breweries cannot afford to choose just any (new) clarification system. Yeast Management
  

The final result of brewing is significantly determined by the quality and purity of the used yeast. Norit Process Technology’s yeast propagation, aeration & storage units are decisive parts of your brewing process. Guaranteeing uninfected yeast at all times and controlled fermentation. During designing of its yeast management units Norit paid attention to all the specific characteristics of cultures, the importance of perfect quality and the need to grow yeast at a larger scale then ever. By developing units in close co-operation with leading brewers Norit Process Technology established a yeast line that is completely manageable.


Fermentation
  

Since the byproducts of fermentation have a significant effect on the taste, aroma and stability of the beer, measurement of those products is one of the priorities during the fermenting stage. The wort and yeast handling of Norit Process Technology assure the best mixture of wort and yeast and its fermenting solutions create optimal fermenting conditions. PH, degree of aeration and temperature e.g. are closely monitored. This enables you to adapt the fermenting to your specific situation. The temperature of the fermenting stage can be managed in detail, to regulate the development of byproducts.


CIP solutions
  

Hygiene is probably the most important word for brewers and the hygiene should be ensured at all times! The Cleaning in Place (CIP) units from Norit enable brewers to clean all pipes, process equipment and fittings fast, hygienic and reliable. The Norit CIP units are designed for automatic cleaning and disinfecting all equipment without any assembling. What makes Norit Process Technology unique are the reliable (double seat) valves of Norit Südmo combined with the broad knowledge of Norit Process Technology when it comes to cleaning procedures in breweries.
 


Carbonation & Blending
  

Within its projects Norit Process Technology integrates the state-of-the-art CO2 systems of Norit Haffmans. Norit Haffmans produces a wide range of In-line measuring equipment to measure automatically the CO and O2 content of your beverage, the original gravity in beer as well as the brix volume in soft drinks. A range of "plug-and-play" units for water-deaeration, blending and carbonation is available in different types and capacities.

Water in breweries
   

(AMF) is a compact sterile filtration system, which is designed to be sterilized with steam or sanitized with hot water. The fully automated ‘plug & play’ unit can be applied in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries for fine filtration of raw water. By integration all the available water knowledge of Norit Membrane Technology, Norit Process Technology succeeds in achieving stunning water savings at several brewing steps and lower the overall consumption up to 2 hl per hl beer (incl re-use), lowering the Opex dramatically.


Already during the designing stage, Norit engineers focus on the lowest energy, water and raw material consumption as possible, a decisive advantage for brewers to remain successful in a very competitive market. Preassembling the units in our factories is one of the fundaments for Norit’s strategy of innovation. Furthermore are all units stringently tested in one of our production plants, to assure its quality & reliability.
