The final result of brewing is significantly determined by the quality and purity of the yeast that is used. Especially the treatment of the harvested yeast to assure quality parameters is guaranteed. During the designing stage of its yeast management units Norit paid attention to all the specific characteristics of yeast cultures, the importance of perfect yeast quality and the need to grow yeast at a larger scale then ever. By developing units in close co-operation with leading brewers Norit Process Technology established a yeast management line that is completely manageable.
Yeast aeration The availability of sterile oxygen is needed to avoid any yeast infection. The yeast aeration units from Norit Process Technology are designed for optimal aeration, with optimal propagation rates and healthy and vital yeast as a result. The simplicity of Norit Process Technology’s yeast aeration solutions avoids infections and the integrated cleaning strategies keep the concept sterile.
Yeast propagation During the yeast propagation stage it is all about control and measurement. Isolating the best yeast and breed them into healthy strains, is critical to achieve the desired beer characteristics. Sterilization of the wort upfront of the propagation stage is an option. Close measurement of the temperature ensures the optimal temperature for propagation.
Yeast storage Storage of the yeast for later use, or to be dosed is a process in which hygiene is vital. The closed design of the Norit yeast storage lowers the risk on.
