Pentair was awarded with the order for the new Greenfield Brewery of Asahi Beijing Beer in Beijing, PR of China. A new brewery for Asahi was necessary because the existing Brewery in the center of Beijing had to be closed to create space for the Olympic Games of 2008.

The new Greenfield Brewery is located outside Beijing in the direction of the Great Wall and has a sales capacity of 1 million hl per year. The Brewery is built with Japanese & European know how and equipment for the critical process part, combined with locally supplied parts for other area’s . 

Pentair is involved in the procurement and quality control of these locally supplied parts such as:

- utilities
- large stainless steel tanks
- filling lines

Pentair is, in close co-operation with ASAHI,  responsible for the Project Management, the beer processing area (yeast propagation, yeast storage, yeast pitching, flotation, fermentation, aging, filtration, bright beer storage, CIP and the process automation for these parts) and the integration of the brewhouse, the locally supplied parts and beer processing area.
 
In April 2004 this new Brewery was in full operation to the satisfaction of both parties.
